Today is the day I am to leave home for a place I have only dreamed about. I am on the way to the land that the Artistic giants once roamed. Ghirlandaio, Bottecelli, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo once called Florence home, and now it is my turn to visit. I have my favorite book in tow, Irving Stone's The Agony and the Ecstasy. It should make for a good read on the plane, and I am excited to see how it correlates with modern Italy. I am going to do my best to trace his footsteps, and I will use this book as my guide. Our flight doesn't leave until midnight, so I decided to grab some chinese food. This fortune seems fitting. See you in Italy!
